Control, Chaos, Capitalism, and Capitulation.
The current overriding theme of my work deals with humankind’s obsessive-compulsive need for control over chaos. As we have moved to a more technologically advanced society, the “natural” environment has become increasingly something to be conquered, controlled and maintained for “productive” use.
My interest lies in the consequences of this behavior and the associated control systems on both the macro (global) and micro (individual) levels. In order to bring these ideas to light, I tend to use video, installation, sculpture, and interactive electronic elements.
